Principal’s Message

“The illiterate of the 21 st century will not be those who cannot read and write,
but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn”- Alvin Toffler

The 21st century is the century of innovation. In this century, we observed a rapid growth of science and information technology, whereas public education system especially at school level is lagging behind. The teachers of this new regime are supposed to be young, fresh, innovative, and tech savvy. Teachers are the best resources to bring changes to schools and thus transform those into learning organizations. Hence, teachers need ample scope for a variety of skill development and professional development training. These will help them to lead the young learners to right vista and encourage the young minds to be critical thinkers, creative, collaborative and communicative. In the DIET, Uttar Dinajpur we train the pre-service trainees in all respects, keeping in mind their changing and challenging roles in the society. For the in-service teachers, our aim is to motivate them in such a way that they can adopt changes, adapt themselves and usher in new sunshine catering the needs of the society.
